"Listen
to your Child"
Connie Allen, MA
Listening to your child is one of the greatest gifts you can
give her. She needs it, and you will learn much. We often believe
we are listening to children when we are really trying to get
them to listen to us. We unconsciously believe our perspective
is the most important, and we try to make sure our child hears
us.
Instead, focus on listening sincerely and attentively to your
child. Listen to every word he says with a sincere desire to hear
his ideas and point of view. Recognize that even though his truth
may be different than yours, it is his truth. Practice this for
a week, and you’ll be amazed at what you learn.
